Review: Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route Switzerland

Review: Chamonix to Zermatt Haute Route Switzerland
Dear Bill:

Our hiking trip from Chamonix to Zermatt was amazing. All of the hotels we stayed in and the huts were so accommodating and all the people were so nice! The trails were well marked, some very hard and others very easy. We met many cows along the way and many other hikers. The food was excellent too…cheeses, breads, meats…..and butter! Switzerland is a beautiful country to see on foot! I would do this hike over and over again. I think Bill Russell’s Mountain Tours did a great job organizing our trip!
Regards,
Nancy

Packing Light
We all like to go places, but we sometimes find ourselves hating to travel. It’s an enigma.  Packing and unpacking.  Lugging the luggage.  Keeping organized with a place for tickets, passport, important telephone numbers and directions, and keeping clothes clean.  It’s almost too much to cope. Here are some thoughts on the subject.

I Love to Travel, But Without the Tourists.
Throngs of tourists sightseeing the day away can be a problem but Russell Tours has found a way around it. It’s really very simple. Just get to your destination village and get on the trail as quickly as you can. You can enjoy all the beauties of nature like the Alps in Europe and the Pyrenees mountains between France and Spain hardly ever see a tourist.

The Cirque de Gavarnie
The Pyrenees of France offer the best of all worlds to those who love hiking, good food and fantastic scenery. Gavarnie, a small skiing town tucked amid the highest peaks of the Pyrenees is home to some of the best hiking in the country. The towering Cirque de Gavarnie, one of the most famous land forms in France, shadows the small French village of only 250 people.
