The Aiguille du Dru (also the Dru or the Drus; French, Les Drus) is a mountain in the Mont Blanc massif in the French Alps. It is situated to the east of the village of Les Praz in the Chamonix valley. “Aiguille” means “needle” in French.
Mont Blanc is the highest mountain in Europe with year-round snow at its summit. The trail to hike around the mountain starts in Chamonix, France and proceeds down to Courmayeur, Italy, then up through Switzerland, returning to Chamonix. Distance is about 100 miles and it normally is hiked in about 12 days.
